Muddy Squirrel

Shinrin-yoku is the Japanese practice of forest therapy -- literally translated as "forest bathing."  The Norwegians have a similar notion of "friluftsliv" or "free air life."

In both of these practices, the focus is not on fancy equipment, physically demanding activities or sublime destinations.  Instead, the focus is on the interactive outdoor journey which serves as the reconnection to nature that our bodies and souls so desperately need.

Forest therapy is designed as a guided outdoor experience where individuals use each of their five senses to reconnect with their natural surroundings.  It is "nature wandering" with a purpose -- that purpose being to obtain the restorative health benefits --including mental, emotional, and physical health -- that can be produced by a meaningful outdoor experience.  Intentionally NON-STRENUOUS, forest therapy is a perfect way for ALL ages to reconnect with the outdoors in a positive way.  We think our walks can help you to

  • get low-impact physical exercise
  • reduce stress
  • reconnect with the natural world
  • improve emotional, mental, & physical health

Great for children, adults, and seniors!
